February 4, 2012 - 08:29
Junior Business Development – Sales/Marketing/PR & Account Management

We are a young, creative company of creative’s, filmmakers and producers, combining to supply a growing need for new ideas supported with effective film & video production and integrated distribution to a targeted audience. Confronting the challenges of a diversifying technology-driven industry with a fresh eye and innovative techniques, concise combination of cutting edge practices and highly creative concepts successfully forging a strong path through the changing arena of visual production. We are also part of a larger organisation who together offer full agency services via a series of independent specialists.

We’re looking for an energetic self-starter, with a consultative sales approach, adept at pro-actively building a client base and developing new revenue. Equally as important this person must have an in-depth knowledge into the ever expanding digital arena. The circulation of industry news and new work will be positioned to desired communities and demographics via promotional press releases, along with marketing via telephone calls, meetings and social media networks. This is a versatile role which requires someone who can understand the business objectives of potential and current clients or agencies and positioning us as the ideal partner to help achieve the desired deliverables.

You’ll be contacting potential customers by telephone and social media platforms, events, seminars and screenings. Your primary responsibilities will be to book meetings with senior decision makers in order to discuss the benefits of them using our products, services, partners and networks. Backing this drive, you’ll be making up to fifty outgoing calls per day based on a provided script. During each phone call and resulting meeting, you're likely to:

Describe the products skills and disciplines. Give accurate and detailed advice about how these may benefit. Persuade customers to accept meetings. Gather and document information about the customer. Enter your notes into a database, including dates for follow up calls and further account management tasks.

The work is fast paced and intense, and you have only a short amount of time to build a rapport with customers to explain the features and benefits of the product. Introductory training will be given.

You will be responsible for carrying out market research, along with assisting on proposals, pitches, marketing and PR activity. You’ll be involved in creating and distributing press releases with thought provoking information to position us as industry leaders and best in class, updating RSS feeds where necessary, and having regular contact with industry focused organisations to broaden our media reach. You’ll also need to be up to speed with breaking industry news via magazine publications, online communities, blogs and events, paying particular attention to the creative advertising and film industries.

Your working day is divided up equally, spending time online and on the phone. You’ll be required to engage creatively with a targeted market, growing and expanding traffic on all Irresistible and Caboodle sites.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the management of all content across the main website, sister company, and social accounts. This will include liaising with our directors to ensure that profiles are updated with the latest work, and publishing press releases, as well as updating blog pages. You will be expected to maintain any additional company profiles on external websites, along with updating our portfolio on social platforms including Facebook and Youtube.

In conjunction with managing online content, you will be responsible for keeping the PR Portfolio up to date. The portfolio is a reflection of all work produced, including all news published across our websites, and any additional content featured on external publications. The portfolio is available to all clients and visitors when they first enter the offices. At the end of each quarter all activity is collated into one document; the best of which, goes on to be featured in our quarterly bulletin.

Initially you’ll be contacting PR, Event and Music companies, as you become fluent in the role you’ll then be asked to target brands directly.

This is a full-time role. You’ll usually work 40 hours a week or as contracted, all details agreed during the interview process. You’ll work in a busy open plan office with targets set regarding call rate, meetings achieved and a growing digital audience. Bonuses are available on top of the basic salary package.

To be a Social & New Business Developer, you'll need excellent digital knowhow combined with impeccable communication and listening skills, all along with a polite, confident and friendly manner. You’ll need to be professionally presented and be blessed with character and charisma, and possess the initiative to enjoy working with customers and building relationships. A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to work under pressure, is essential. Flexibility, quick thinking, perseverance and the ability to respect customers' answers are also necessary. You must enjoy working within a target-driven team environment.

Knowledge of industry software such as Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, is desirable.

There are no specific set entry requirements, sales techniques, knowledge, passion and personality is more important than academic ability; however, all relevant qualifications and experience will be extremely beneficial. Skills such as experience in targeting, lead sourcing and winning business for a creatively led agency, production house or media company along with a proven track record of selling into ad agencies and or direct to brand are desirable. Also first-rate communication skills, excellent attention to detail and being well organised, along with a result driven attitude and real commitment to creating new business opportunities, and of course multi-platformed digital nous.

Training is provided in-house and will include an induction period. You'll spend a short period of time gaining experience without the pressure of achieving targets in a probation period. You’ll be given an up to date FTSE 1000 data base to call and login details for our existing digital presence including the official websites and social accounts.

We’ll also ask you to maintain a succinct and streamlined office and work place through these additional positions:

Office Manager: Dealing with third party suppliers making sure we have essentials such as water, milk, tea, office stationary, and utilities including power and communication tools. You will be the main source of contact in dealing with our Cleaning Contractor and be responsible for the general management of all interns to ensure that the premises are maintained to a respectable level, in particular, prior to client-facing meetings and attended edits.

HR Manager: You’ll be required to assist with compiling a daily HR report for all employees, documenting holidays and sick days.

If you're successful, you can achieve rapid promotion and salary increases. When experienced you'll have the opportunity to quickly progress into a senior member of the development team, attending meetings, writing proposals and closing deals and managing accounts. Creating an almost priceless ‘black book’ with industry contacts, attending events, awards, screenings and seminars resulting in an envious lifestyle in the media industry.

You'll be asked to increase our social audience by 1% per day on multiple sites, arrange a meeting a per day otherwise hit 50+ call rate per day.

As a new entrant you’ll enter a month’s trial leading into a 3 month probation agreement with the intent of securing an annual contract.
